Can I work for BOS in Borneo? - YES you can!
We receive many requests from private supporters who want to help out directly at our rehabilitation centres in Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo), but unfortunately this is a service that we cannot provide. To secure a sufficient high level of professionalism to our work as well as the good health of the orangutans, the centres are restricted areas.
One of the rehabilitation centres, Wanariset, is situated in our forest and sanctuary project, Samboja Lestari. Here, we are now transforming 2,000 hectares of grass land into tropical rainforest. The area houses islands for orangutans, a sun bear sanctuary, an organic garden, sustainable forestry and agriculture projects and a long list of scientifc research projects are found here.
You can witness this fantastic project through our volunteer programme or by staying in the Samboja Lodge
(www.sambojalodge.com) in the middle of the rain-forest!.
