Like the rest of the world we at Save the Orangutan are affected by the extraordinary circumstances that COVID-19 has caused. We support the regulations and recommendations and contribute by protecting our employees and society. Therefore, we are working from home.

This does not prevent us from continuing with our efforts for helping displaced orangutans as well as protecting the rainforest and the wild orangutan populations. All adopters will receive updates about their orangutans as planned and we can still be contacted by e-mail as well as by phone during our opening hours. Our web shop is, however, temporarily closed as we are currently unable to send packages. We hope for your understanding in this matter.

Protection of staff and orangutans at the Rehabilitation Centres

COVID-19 has been classified as a global epidemic (pandemic) by the World Health Organization (WHO). Indonesia has also been affected.

As orangutans are closely related to humans the virus may impose a risk for them as well. Therefore, our partner BOS Foundation is doing all they can to ensure that both staff and orangutans at the Rehabilitation Centres are protected in the best way possible. During this difficult time we want to ensure that the orangutans remain safe. Therefore, your continuous support is extremely important and valuable.

Take care of each other. Thank you for your support.
